Similarly, there are 30 crore people in our country who are eligible for voting. But, due to some circumstances, they are not able to vote. Among the eligible voters in our country, only 66% of voters can go for the Lok Sabha Election election. Today we are going to discuss how internet voting right can be an easy solution to all these issues.

What is Internet Voting right:

Don’t you think the process of internet voting right should start in our country? Don’t you think it is going to benefit all of us? Come let us get to know what it is all about. Indian people do not consider voting right systems online. Furthermore, they also think that it might affect the citizens and the political background in various ways.

The involvement of unethical hacking and other problems can result in unfair voting means. This is similar to the allegations against the EVM. In this case, what we must know is controlling the drawbacks. We must understand that one can control these drawbacks. Those include air traffic control, banking system, stock market, electricity grid, everything has a great connection with the internet. Among these services, if something fails for even a minute, humans can face huge problems in their daily life.

This means that there already exists a system and technology which can help you to vote with the help of internet. What is Right2Vote Application?

This is an Indian specific technology which is a 100% safe and secure. The authorities have made it solely for voting purposes. Furthermore, this particular technology is also useful in various places. In the year 2013, the Government of India has declared this process under the Indian Companies Act, 2013. This means the shareholders of the company will have to vote as per this particular technique with the help of their mobile phones.

Furthermore, there is an implementation of the same in the Indian Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016. In this act, the process is made mandatory for the creditors to vote with the help of this method. One thing is clear from this particular action that the Government of India has full faith in this particular app, otherwise the implementation of these acts would not have been done.

Benefits Of This Technology For Election Procedures:

Simply think that if India implements this particular technology in the nation, what are the benefits that we are likely going to get? Here is the list of benefits that we are likely going to get via Internet Voting right:

Increased Voter Turnout:

In our country, the voter ratio turnout for 2019 Lok Sabha Elections is expected to be 66%. If we start the internet voting right system in our country, then the population who stays outside India and who is unable to come down for voting can also vote easily. Furthermore, this will help increase the voter’s ratio from 66% to 95%. There are various people who shift to other cities after marriage. Also, there is a certain portion of students who go abroad for their higher studies. If this system will become legal, then the remaining 30 crore people who cannot vote, can easily vote and help out the country.

No Need for Voter ID:

Our country is the only country having a huge database of individuals through the Aadhaar Card system. Thus, the Election Commission will also become free as they will no longer have to maintain the voting database. You can simply verify your Aadhaar credentials and vote with the help of this particular technology. This will reduce hassle to a great extent and thus, will also benefit the citizens of the country.

Saves Money:

In this year, the budget estimation of 2019 Lok Sabha Elections turned out to be Rs 48000 crore. The internet voting system will help save money to a great extent. If there was internet voting, then the entire work related to voting can be done within approx Rs 1000 crore or less. Can you believe it? Yes, you read right. Less than Rs 1000 crore. This will save Rs 47000 crore. Simple imagine what cannot be done in our country with Rs 47000 crore! From infrastructure to regulations to helping out the needy, the possibilities are endless.

A lot of money is needed for maintaining the voting systems. We need money for logistics, building rent, voting booth establishment, and much more. If internet voting becomes legal, there will be no need for physical infrastructures which anyway turns out to be very costly and is also a wastage of money.

Time Saver:

The start of an internet voting system will also save a lot of time apart from saving a huge amount of money. The offline election process is pretty time consuming as it needs about one to one and a half months to complete the entire process. In 2019, the duration for Lok Sabha Elections is from 11th April to 19th May. Also, 4 days more are kept aside for counting the votes. The reason behind this is the huge Indian population. Now, is it not time-consuming? Is it not a headache? Is it not an added responsibility?

That is why people are seeking an internet voting system. The reason behind this is – no time will be needed for counting the votes as everything will take place real-time. Furthermore, only 1 day will be required for the entire process. Simply think about the process! How beneficial will it be!

No Loss in GDP:

With internet voting systems, there will be less human resource needed. There will be no loss of working hours. To conduct this election successfully 1 crore people are taken for employment. Those people include the IAS officers, government school teachers, security personnel and many more. If there is internet voting, we can save the working hours of such people who end up losing their valuable working hours. As a result, the GDP of our country will increase and no more be on a declination. This is not only beneficial for us but is also beneficial for everyone in the country.

Audit Trail:

This is essential as cases of hacking the EVM previously took place a number of times. If an online voting system exists, there will be no such problems as the audits trails will be taken care of. To prevent such voter hacking problems, the Election Commission is using the VVPAT in 2019. This stands for “Voter-Verified Paper Audit Trail”. This shows the respective party for whom you have cast your vote which will be available by the means of a paper showing the party’s name. This is extremely beneficial for our country and this can also prevent fraud cases. Thus, we think the internet voting system is a necessity.

Possible Frequent Election:

With the ease of internet voting right, more and more citizens of the country would partake in the process. Seeing this interest, there is a possibility that the frequency of elections could increase, wherein there could an election every other year instead of every five years.

Disadvantages of Internet Voting:

Less Freedom:

At physical poling booths there is usually heavy security protection to ensure that voters are not harassed or coerced by a particular political party to vote for them. This cannot be guaranteed with internet voting.

Accessibility:

There are still major parts of India which are devoid of internet facilities. This would be issue for their voting.
