You will be FIRED!

🤯I wish I could say i’m just trying to grab your attention with a clickbait subject but like it or not, 400-800 millions jobs that you see today will be gone tomorrow (as per McKinsey report).

🤔I was reading this book called “21 Lessons for the 21st Century” by Yuval Noah Harari and he explains how the combination of biotech & AI will change the world and replace most of the jobs we see today.

😵👉SERIOUSLY, READ THIS BOOK!

❤️‍🩹Interestingly, the govt purposely delays the adoption of these superior systems so as to protect its citizens from becoming jobless. That’s still just borrowed time, we’re delaying the inevitable by not more than 5-10 years.

🧑‍🔧He also explains the history of jobs- “In 1920s a farm worker laid off due to mechanisation of agriculture could find a new job in a factory producing tractors. In 1980 an unemployed factory worker could start working as a cashier in a supermarket.”

👨‍💻However, the jobs of future will demand much higher skill-set and an unemployed cashier can’t quickly start working as a data scientist.

☠️This is why the jobs of future will demand more time to up-skill and not everybody can afford time.

🧑‍🚀The million dollar question is- what can you do today to either prevent such a scenario?

1. 🤖Complex problem solving

All the routine jobs like- family physician, driving, most of the documentation done by CAs, lawyers, etc are in grave danger. Think of it this way, if I am doing the same thing everyday, why can’t I teach a machine/ program to do it?

Most of your time should be invested to learn the complex things, try to reach the top 1% of your field, the experts’ group. A family physician (who is a doctor with an MBBS degree) can be replaced by AI but a cancer researcher will be difficult to replace. It’s still possible though.

2. 🗯️Critical thinking

There are things AI can’t do because us humans are blessed with one thing- Cognitive thinking.

Read books, improve your knowledge, form opinions.

3. 🎨Creativity and imagination

A lot of art and imagination is also taken over by AI, sadly. Today, you could get a unique painting better than that of Picasso’s in under 60 seconds.

However, creativity and imagination is endless and even a hundred years from now people will still surprise the world with their creation. Only the creations will be of different leagues and standards. We watch movies much more badass than the Batman and Top Gun: Maverick, with tech that will make you feel you are in those movies. In that not-so-distant future, what matters is how well you use the tech available to create something that is purely yours and unique.

4. 🤼People management

Managing people and getting work done is a human job (i hope).  This is one task AI might never be able to ace. It’s more about the human connect and emotional intelligence.

People management is more than just making sure your employees have everything they need to do their jobs. It’s also about caring for them as individuals and supporting their wellbeing. This might include helping them overcome personal challenges, inspiring them to do their best work, or supporting their professional development goals.

5. 🗣️Effective communication

While a lot of communication can and will be replaced by AI but just think about it-

Can you sign big contracts without communication? Will you watch our youtube channel if an AI is speaking instead of Mandeep or Rishabh?

If your answer is No, then human connection and communication will still be relevant and jobs around this will still prevail.

6. 🧠Emotional intelligence

“Yeah Bro! I feel you!”

Emotions are our curse and our strength. And it’s an art to be there for other people, help them in difficult times and grow together. Emotion management, if done right, can lead to immense professional and personal growth.

7. ✅Judgement and decision making

“What do you want to eat?”
Vs
“Pick one, Pav Bhaji or Chole Bhature”

Which of these statements will save your group’s time and effort? I hope you got the point. Decision-making is simple but not easy. You need to think differently.
Is this decision too important?
What can or can’t be done?
How much time it’ll take to implement?
Can the time be saved with an alternative?
What’s the worse that could happen if we say no?
What’s more important? Time or public approval?

These are the things that should run in your mind as a professional.

8. Service orientation

“You want to write? We have a pen and a man as well.” 😌

9. 🧑‍💼Negotiation

“7 crore!!!”🥳  “50 lakh”😑  “Dedh sau rupiya dega.”🤓

10. 🤠Cognitive flexibility

“Doctor by profession, writer by passion.” 😎

11. Spreadsheets

From simple to complex, every type of data is populated in an excel spreadsheet. Freelancers get paid more than $1000/- just to populate and make data analysis on an excel spreadsheet. Your employer is also expecting the same from you. Learn excel today and become a pro.
