Whatβs happening? π
You might have seen the same topperβs photo in multiple ads from different coaching centers.
How is that possible?
These institutes often recycle the same studentβs success story, passing it off as their own.
They also make fake claims like β100% selectionβ or βfee refund if not selected.β
Finally, the Ministry of Consumer Affairs stepped in with new guidelines:
Institutes must get written consent before using a candidateβs photograph.
They have to clearly mention the specific program the candidate was enrolled in.
The Ministry has already fined 18 institutes a total of βΉ54 lakhs for fake β100% selectionβ ads.
But letβs be real: misleading ads will still pop up.
Have you spotted any suspicious coaching ads?
